Our certification process

Our easy-to-follow 12-step process enables us to support you at every stage of your application process, ensuring complete transparency about exactly what is required for a successful audit. From the moment you contact us, we’ll be on hand to guide you through each step of the certification process.

Our Expertise

Both of our Directors have previously been involved in achieving the correct marketplace certifications for their companies. They understand the need for a fast and efficient service, as well as the pressures that delays can place on businesses. They are supported by our experienced Technical Advisors, Ian Turner and Andy Hayward. Both are experts in compliance and have over 40 years of experience in the field of legal metrology.

Direct Contact with your Auditor

Once we have agreed on your audit dates and sent you the initial plan, you will be put in direct contact with your auditor, who will be available to answer and advise on any questions you may have about your audit or the auditing process. This makes it easy for you to address any issues in advance. We’ll also contact you 3 months before your surveillance audit is due with provisional dates and costs.

Speed, Efficiency, and Reliability

Achieving certification quickly is often a necessity for businesses, particularly when legislation has changed or you want to introduce a new weighing or measuring instrument to the market. Subject to the scope of your project, we aim to have you fully certified in 4-6 weeks (our current turnaround record is 2 weeks from initial application to certification). We’ll also notify you when your annual surveillance audit is due, giving you plenty of time to prepare and one less thing to remember.

A higher level of Compliance

Many of our auditors have previously worked in Local Authorities’ Trading Standards departments, and some as Inspectors of Weights and Measures. This means they are well-versed in identifying issues that may cause you problems further down the line and can advise accordingly.
