Introduction
As a UK-based conformity Assessment Body, we understand that the auditing and certification process may feel a little daunting. With the right preparation, the right auditing team and a little bit of internal organisation, the process of being audited can be relatively easy, stress-free and very informative – it’s an opportunity for you to review your systems and processes and understand how you can improve them.
If you are preparing for an upcoming audit, we have put together the following steps to help you prepare.
- Make sure you understand the requirements of your audit and the certification you are looking to achieve. This will be clearly laid out in your audit plan, and you will be able to contact your auditor in advance of the audit if you have any questions.
- Test any equipment that is involved in the audit, to make sure it’s working on the day and reduce room for errors.
- Review the relevant quality systems, ensuring everything is up to date and that those involved in the audit understand your systems and processes. You’ll also need to make sure that all documentation is up to date and stored centrally.
- Book your audit in advance, that way you will have time to prepare for your audit, make sure everyone who is required to be involved can be present on the day and crucially that your certificate (s) can be issued within your required timeframe.
- Review your audit plan. This will be sent to you once we have agreed on the dates for your audit. It will contain an outline of the day(s), processes and anything else you need to know. Reviewing this in detail will ensure you are fully prepared.
- Brief the team members involved so they are fully prepared and understand what is expected from them on the day.
When you book an audit with us, our team will be on hand to advise you on what will happen on the day and guide you through the process. You’ll also be put in direct contact with your auditor as soon as your audit plan has been approved. Subject to the scope of your audit, we can have you fully certified in as little as 4-6 weeks.
