The webinar was hosted by two of our auditors, Phil Thomas and Damian Chester and our technical advisor Ian Turner.
Phil: Has more than 40 years of experience in working with businesses, having previously worked in the Trading Standards profession as head of service for one of the largest local authorities in the UK. As part of that career, he created and managed quality systems to ISO 9001 and UKAS accreditations.
Since leaving Trading Standards, Phil has carried out assessments under legal metrology rules across the world. Conducting 250 assessments in 20 countries, including the UK, Europe, the USA and the Far East.
Damian: Is the lead weights and measures officer for Cambridgeshire, Peterborough and Rutland Council. Damian specialises in Weights and Measures, Product Safety, Investigations and Regulating Markets. He also has a BSI certificate as a lead auditor for ISO9001 Quality Management.
Damian also sits on the Local Authority Sports Ground Advisory Group and conducts inspections on sports grounds and public events, ensuring the safety of c. 500k spectators a year. He also conducts petroleum safety audits (APEA), and EV installations in accordance with the Institute of Technology and engineering guidance.
Ian: Has been working in the Weights and Measures industry since 1987. He is the Technical Officer for the UK Weighing Federation, helping companies gain the technical knowledge and relevant certifications they need to undertake their business. He has been working with the UKMB for 3 years.
